Cricket is a sweet little about 8 year old Dachshund lady. (The shelter estimated her to be 6-10 but now that she is well she appears on the younger end).  She was sick, weak and full of heartworms when LPDR rescued her from a high-kill shelter in South Carolina. When she went to her foster home, she stayed in her bed for two weeks, too weak and scared to move and socialize with the other dogs and humans. She was treated for heartworms, a wicked skin allergy and had 20 teeth removed. Since then, Cricket has bloomed into  an amazing little dog that loves everyone. She is so affectionate and loves back and belly rubs. When you hold her and snuggle, she makes these little groaning noises that let you know that she loves and appreciates you. She is mostly a lap dog but will get frisky from time to time and want us to play and will chase you. You would not believe the transformation in Cricket. All she needed was some TLC and now her true personality shines. Cricket would love to have a home of her own, where she can forget about all the bad things in her past and enjoy her future being spoiled like she deserves. Cricket is good with dogs, not sure about cats and would enjoy children over 12 years of age. She walks great on a leash and is working on her house training. She is spayed and UTD on all vaccines.

Adoption Fee:  $250.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $135 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses. This fee is non refundable if dog is returned. Fill out an adoption application http://littlepawsdachshundrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=2724 TRANSPORTATION HELP! If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
