My name is Buddy!  I am a miniature senior red smooth dachshund that lost the only home I have ever known.  Thank goodness the folks who love dachshunds stepped up to help because I was headed for a shelter and from what I know that was not a happy place.  I am now in foster care in Maryland and looking for a retirement home.  I am house trained if you keep me on a schedule and crate trained, but would rather sleep on the big bed then by myself in my crate.  I have always been an only dog and I guess I could be an only dog again, but I have gotten use to the company of the other small dogs in my foster home so a small companion buddy would also be nice.  I am easy going, love to cuddle and according to my foster mom very sweet.  (Note: Buddy does not like being left alone as he has always had the company of a human.)

For additional information please contact my foster mom Beth (BethMittleman@icloud.com)

Adoption Fee:  $150.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $135 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.

Transportation Help

If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
