Hi. My name is Ginger Ann and I know it’s a long name for such a tiny girl like me, but I really do come for a scratch or to be picked-up when I hear my name!! I came to rescue when my previous owner called my foster momma to come get me…I was a very, very skinny girl! I didn’t weigh over 9 pounds and my foster momma says I should weigh around 14 pounds, because I am really long!! She also said I needed a lot of TLC! I didn’t have much fur and I didn’t smell very good!! What did my new foster momma do, you might ask?? She scooped me right up and took me to her house!!! I got a bath, a warm meal, lots of blankets and a brand new necklace. I also met my new foster siblings. I never knew I could have friends, just like me!!! I may be 9 years old but my foster momma says I act like a 2 year old! I love to go on walks and play in the fenced back yard…I like to chase chipmunks, squirrels, and bark at the horses! I also like looking out windows at the birds!! My foster momma tells me all the time that I can lay on the couch or the recliner, but I prefer to lay down on the bed she made just for me by her chair! She also tells me I’m a very good girl because I never potty in the house!! Like, who would even think about pottying in the house?? I have a doggy door, plus if I stand by the front door… she takes me outside on the leash. She tells me I am so smart. I wanted to make a list of some of things you should know about me…I’m very shy and scared when I first meet new people and will usually bark to let you know just how scared I am! Sometimes my hair may even stick up!! But if you give me a chance to sniff and get to know the new person, I will be just fine. I don’t mind being picked up, but could you please do it slowly. As my foster momma will say, somebody wasn’t very nice to me! I also like to eat!!! I sorta eat my breakfast and dinner really fast, like it may be my last meal, but I am getting better since I am fed every day now, twice a day, plus I even get treats at bedtime. I currently sleep in a crate in my foster momma’s bedroom. I have a fluffy bed and a soft blanket in there! I feel safe in my crate and I sleep the entire night!! If you decide to adopt me… it may take me a few days to feel safe with you, but once I do, I will follow you around everywhere!! And I will want you to pet me and hold me and love me!!! If you have any more questions, you should definitely contact my foster momma!!

Adoption Fee:  $250.00 + $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $125 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.   This additional fee and health certificate fee are non refundable.

Transportation Help:  If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
