Odie is an adorably sweet butterscotch colored 1.5 year old Chiweenie weighing about 15 lbs.  Odie came from a highkill shelter in W Va after being surrendered by his owner. 

Odie says he is looking for a family that loves a young dog who can be an active pup to chase balls and run “zoomies” in the yard, and can also relax and chill with you on your lap or a dog bed while you are sitting at the computer, on the couch or taking a nap.  When I nap with you, I love to curl up right next to your side, where I stay very, very, very still, and I don’t snore!

I love the comfort of a soft dog bed.  Now that is it cold outside, I have found a love for flannel sheets.  I may be a bit slow waking on winter mornings and emerging from my flannel dog cave because it is so warm and cozy in there after 8 hours of sleeping.  I get very excited for my meals, and eat very quickly. When it is meal time, I jump up and down on my back legs like a Pogo Stick.  I take treats very gently.     

I love to be cuddled and have belly rubs. I am a very gentle dog, who is good at learning commands, and responds very well to your tone of voice.

I am learning how to walk on the leash. This is a new experience for me.

I am crate trained, but I prefer to be out of my crate and following you around.

I enjoy playing with my sister Mimi. We are not a “bonded” pair, but we really do enjoy playing with each other, and sharing the same dog bed…to stay warm, of course!

If you are looking for a loving, low maintenance young dog, who can play in the yard or relax with you on the couch or in the house, then I am your pup.

Adoption Fee:  $275.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $135 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.

If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
