Adoption Fee:   $275.00 + $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in MA, NH, and ME are subject to a mandatory quarantine period as per state laws. This will be an extra fee ($125.00) in addition to the regular adoption fee.  

Sophia is a 3 year old we rescued from a puppy mill, having lived her life in a cage being used to breed puppies. Fortunately, she’s adjusted well to her new life! She’s a very sweet and affectionate dog, most comfortable cuddling in your lap or trying to burrow under a blanket. She has moderate energy levels, and is typically relaxed and occasionally getting into her playful moods. Sophia does well with other dogs, but it’s clear she’s still adjusting to life outside of a kennel.
We’re working on continuing to housetrain her, and she is making progress. Now, she does well with her pee pads. One hurdle is working with her to take longer walks. Sophia has some trepidation while walking on a leash, and will just stop walking. With more work and patience, I think this young girl will learn to overcome what she’s been through and be a great addition to any family.

If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption.  LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
