My name is Gigi. I was recently rescued from a hoarding situation. The vet thinks I am about 3 years old. I am a dachshund mix. I weigh about 15 pounds. My foster mom says that, in spite of my situation, I am a very sweet and gentle girl. I do tend to be a bit skittish in new situations or around new people. However, I have adjusted to my foster home quite well. I love to play with my foster brother. My favorite thing to do is to cuddle on the couch with my foster family. I also love to go on long walks and do very well on the leash. But I do bark at other dogs that we meet along the way. I am crated at night and I do just fine as long as I am with my “pack”. When my foster mom leaves during the day, she puts me in my crate. At first I would bark the entire time. But I am getting better.
My foster mom is working with me on housetraining. As long as I am kept on a schedule, I do very well. Since there are no children in my foster home, I don’t know how I would do around them. I tend to scare at loud noises. When I am home, I don’t bark much. But I will definitely let you know when someone comes to the door.
I am easy to please. All I really need is a warm bed, food and a family to call my own. It would also be really nice if I had another fur brother or sister to play with.

Adoption Fee: $275.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $135 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.
Transportation Help
If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
