I’m Webster, and I am an 8.5 year old long hair black and tan dachshund.

My foster mom tells me I am an awesome dog with impeccable house behavior, I am polite and house trained.  I am an easygoing pup, who is fine as the only dog in the house, or with other dog(s). I am happy sleeping on my dog bed either in your room or another part off the house.  If I wake before you, I will come and find you to say “good morning”. I am independent and am happy in my own company, but also enjoy attention, strokes, cuddling on the couch and gentle chats.

I enjoy walks where I can sniff and explore my surroundings. I walk well on a leash; on my own or with another dog.  I like my snoozer dog bed where I can get inside and watch my humans and other pets pass by.  As a longhaired dachshund I need to be brushed or groomed as it can become matted if left un-brushed. My foster mom has given me baths, and tells me I am very patient, and I love to be cuddle dried in a towel.  The hair on my feet is long, so make sure to check my nails and keep them trimmed. I absolutely love chasing a ball when it’s thrown in the yard. I will bring it back to you, and sometimes bark at the ball reminding it who’s the boss!  I only bark in the house if I hear another dog bark from outside just to let you know what’s going on outside. When I’m in the yard I bark and greet other dogs walking outside the fence, and my tail is always wagging.

If you are looking for a middle aged dog who enjoys walks, spending time in the yard, retrieving the ball, likes to cuddle, and who wants to become a member of your family, then I’m your guy.

Adopt ion Fee:  $250.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $135 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.

Transportation Help

If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
