Hi! My name is Dolly and if you are looking for a companion couch potato, then your search is over! I came into Little Paws rescue as  an owner surrender. My human mom was no longer able to keep me due to having to go into an assisted living facility. My previous owner also says that I cannot jump on or off furniture due to the health of my back. I also need liver medicine daily 30 minutes before eating. Because of an unhealthy diet when I was younger, I need pill to help manage my liver enzymes. I am a very sweet girl with short and smooth coat. I just love to sit with my humans in the recliner or couch; a regular love-bug!  I also love to lick my human’s face and I will sleep in a crate or in a doggie bed next to my humans all throughout the night without any problems! I am such a good and well-behaved southern girl! My foster mom says that I am housebroken but I might occasionally have accidents inside, but I am also crate trained and I will whine when I want out. I do best if I am taken outside as soon as I wake up in the morning, after eating and occasionally throughout the day and before going to bed for the night. Mom doesn’t feed me after the dinner hour so I do not have any accidents during the night. I walk well on the leash, love to go on walks, enjoy being around other dogs and tolerate kids. I am somewhat picky about my treats and will growl if another dog tries to steal my treats. Otherwise, I am not bossy and just want to be by your side. I am not a dominant female, and I just love to play with my fur-siblings. My foster mom says that I will not destroy stuffed toys and my previous mom says that I love squeaky toys and stuffed toys. My foster mom hasn’t seen me chew or play with anything other than bones, yet. I do not bark much but I will bark when a stranger comes into the home but I quiet down shortly afterwards. For the most part I am very quiet and reserved. I will more easily come to a female than a male. I would be great being in an apartment or with a senior citizen and I am so easy to fall in love with that I would definitely make someone a great companion! I am 9 years young, 15 pounds of love, spayed and microchipped. I am healthy, heartworm negative, UTD on all of my shots.

Completing an Adoption Application:   http://littlepawsdachshundrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=2724

Adoption Fee:  $150.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional non-refundable $145 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.    Transportation Help If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
