Meet one of the most handsome smooth-coat back and tan doxies – me, Tally. I love to run and play in the yard (in the kitchen, down the hallway, in the bedroom, etc.). While I’m currently walked on a leash, I would love to have a fenced yard of my own where I can run free, sniffing every square inch. I’m very agreeable and respectful of other small dogs but not always agreeable around larger dogs. I’m good with adults, warming up quickly to new people – but only after giving them a few barks, a good sniffing and a slow introduction.

My foster mom says I’m affectionate and love to be held.  If you massage my ears, I’ll close my eyes, lean into your hand and simply enjoy the moment. Life just doesn’t get any better.

I’m proud to say that I’m house trained and crate trained. At night, I sleep in my cozy crate in my foster mom’s bedroom. I patiently wait for her to get up each morning to walk and feed me (emphasis on feeding). I’m gentle when taking treats and wait my turn (did I mention that I’m living with four other dachshunds.) I just love to eat. As a result, I’m just a little plump for my size so, to keep me spine-healthy, I’m working on losing a few pound. I have a long doxie body with very short legs so no steps or stairs for me. My foster mom thinks I would do best with someone who is at home most of the day, where there are no children and with someone is dachshund-savvy.
