Poor little Nutmeg was plucked off the streets, emaciated and infested with fleas. It has been amazing to see her change over the last two months from a very neglected, guarded dog to one who has a beautiful shine on her coat, and who is playful and loves to cuddle. She does have a history of seizures but is well controlled on medication.
Nutmeg is doing very well with her house training – she has not had any accidents in several weeks. She loves to go for rides in the car, and for walks. She gets along well with her foster siblings, occasionally she can be a little bossy with them. While her current foster home does not have children, she spent some time in another foster’s home with a 1 year old, and had no issues. Nutmeg is a doll, who is still learning that people can be trusted. She has never been aggressive, but can be a little slow to warm up to people – once she knows that she won’t be harmed, she just melts! She loves to sit in your lap and be loved on. Nutmeg can’t wait to have a person of her very own, please apply for her if you think she might be a good fit.

Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional non-refundable $145 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses. Transportation Help If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
