Lexie is a gorgeous black and cream girl who is looking for love! She has the sweetest nature but still needs work and time to learn to fit into the people world. She was surrendered by a breeder who took good care of her but she was not socialized. She really wants to be though and the right home for her would be one who gives her time and space to grow. Once Lexie is in your arms or lying next to you she just loves to be petted. However, if you approach her to pick her up she will run so you need to let her come to you! She has not been around cats or children but is so sweet I think she would be fine with both. She does fine with her foster siblings. Likes to play with toys when no one is looking and loves the yard. I think she will do best in a home with a fenced yard. She is doing well with house training and will go in a crate if needed. Still working on the leash walking.
Lexie is 5 years old and about 10 pounds of beauty!!!
Completing an Adoption Application: http://littlepawsdachshundrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=2724 Adoption Fee: $275.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional non-refundable $145 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses. Transportation Help If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
