Hi my name is Jordan (J.J.). I am an 8 year old neutered silver dapple. I lived with a very loving family until they fell on really hard times. The people at Little Paws were able to take me in and save me from the shelter life. I am now living in a foster home with a foster mom and dad, a few human siblings and a few fur siblings. When I first got here I was barking and trying to chase the cats in the house. I say “try” because the cats knew exactly what they were dealing with and outsmarted me. My foster parents made it very clear that they were not going to tolerate this type of behavior and I got reprimanded. Well, I didn’t like that too much as I was used to doing whatever I wanted. But then I realized I rather live peacefully with the kitties. We get along great now! I get along great with the 3 other dogs here as well. I like to sleep in a bed with one of them so if you have a guy that likes to have a friend, I bet I would go great with him!
I love going out for walks and I really like my leash. My foster parents figured that out within the first few days. When I was being stubborn and refused to leave certain rooms when they go out, they started putting the leash on me to make me move. It works good as I am learning what boundaries are and how to behave in a home.
I also really love the car! I am so lucky as my foster dad is always taking me on rides with him and sometimes I even get to go to work with him! I am really well behaved when I know what is expected of me.
For sleeping I would really like to be in the big bed. I love to cuddle and be with my people. During the day I am perfectly happy being in a dog bed wherever you are, but at night I want to be next to you!
Now the big thing. I am a little embarrassed of this but we are working on it. I am a little overweight. Ok..ok..actually a lot overweight. Foster mom says it isn’t my fault. My old owners loved me the best that they could but they did something called “free feed” with me. Well, it doesn’t work with me. All my food is measured now and I have taken some lbs. off! I am starting to feel better and am becoming more active. I am only 8 – I have many more years left! So please, if I come live with you, I need you to stay committed to my weight loss so I can continue to get healthy!
Ok I think I covered it all! What do you think? I want nothing more than a loving family and home of my own. Give me that and you have a companion for life!

Adoption Fee: $150.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $135 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.
Transportation Help
If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
