Hi I’m Nelson! Do you wanna play?

Meet Nelson, a lovable, cream wirehaired dachshund that loves to play. He especially loves tennis balls and Kongs.  Nelson is three years old and was brought over to the US from Germany. His family could no longer keep him and LPDR has made commitment to find him a very loving forever home.

Nelson loves to play and will entertain himself for hours with a Kong or tennis ball.  He loves car rides and walks around the neighborhood, but most of all he loves hanging out in the fenced yard playing. He will play with other dogs but doesn’t need a canine companion. 

Initially Nelson is wary of new people and warms up to the quickly. Nelson reacted very well to the groomer, which he will need often due to his long wirehaired coat. He is a little on the curly side of the wirehair strain. He will allow you to brush him daily. A recent house sitter said that Nelson was very good with her and she just fell in love with him. He will settle down and snuggle and loves to sleep on the big bed.

Adoption Fee:  $275.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $135 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses. 

Transportation Help
