**CAROLINE IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN NEW ENGLAND ONLY**

Sweet Caroline came to LPDR when her family moved and only brought a few of their dogs with them. They left Caroline behind... most likely because she had health issues. Some neighbors were feeding her and finally, after one long month all alone, one caring neighbor finally decided enough was enough and brought her to safety. Caroline is about 9 years old and came to LPDR with some serious health issues due to years of neglect and no medical care. She had a grapefruit sized tumor on her chest that hindered her mobility. She also had a fistula and a mouth full of rotting teeth. It is seriously a miracle that she is heart worm negative! Little Paws brought her into the rescue not knowing what she was up against, but we knew this sweet girl needed a chance at a wonderful life. Her first surgery was for the tumor and fistula repair. It was a long, complicated surgery and we almost lost her due to complications of anesthesia. A brief stay at the ER and she was back home to recover. And, the great news was that the tumor was not cancerous. Once she healed from her first major surgery, it was time to fix up her mouth and a 2nd fistula surgery since the first one did not take. Thankfully, she came through the 2nd surgery beautifully and has been on the mend for the past month. She has not been a fan of wearing a cone for a month and not being able to play with toys (which she is a huge fan of) but is a trooper and making the best of it. Finally, Miss Caroline is ready to find her forever home. Through all of the hardships this little lady has had, she is one of the sweetest, spunkiest and friendliest pups you’ll meet. Her tail never stops wagging!  She wants nothing more than to be around people and she is great with our 2 small dogs. She loves walks, rides in the car, snuggling and treats. She will sleep in a crate but MUCH prefers to sleep in the big bed. She should not go to a home with cats or large dogs.  Caroline is prone to fatty tumors and does have 4 small ones but they are not growing and do not bother her. Other than that, she is now a healthy little girl! Would you consider opening your hearts to this special girl? I promise, you won’t regret it and she has a lot of love to give for many years to come. If you are interested in knowing more about Caroline please contact their foster mom Bonnie Scannell (bswiltshire@hotmail.com). If Caroline is adopted over state lines there will be a $45 charge for a health certificate (required by law). Please go to www.littlepawsdr.org to fill out an application.
