Hi!  My name is Rex. My brother Cody and I came into rescue because our human mom died unexpectedly and we were left homeless. A really good friend took care of us, but realized that she wasn’t giving us the life we deserved because she needed to leave us alone for very long periods of time. She tried really hard but decided we needed a forever family that had more time to take care of us.

Life is good. We are doing incredibly well in our foster home. Our foster mom says we are easy going and whomever adopts us will be very lucky. We love attention. We love being petted. We love being outdoors in our fenced backyard. And believe it or not, we adore being groomed.   I do have Cushing’s disease so I need a daily pill which helps control the sympoms associated with Cushing's disease.  Cody and I are in search of a forever family that has a securely fenced backyard and will not leave us alone for long periods of time.

If you are interested in knowing more about Cody and Rex, please contact their foster mom, Lorrie at dachsielover@verizon.net

The adoption fee for Cody & Rex is $450 (for both dogs). If they are adopted over the Maryland state line there will be a $45.00 charge (for each dog) for a health certificate (required by law).  If they are adopted in New England there is an additional $150 fee (for each dog) to cover regulatory requirements

Transportation Help

If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
