Hi!  My name is Rufus! I am a 10-year-old dachshund but my foster mom says that I don’t act my age. I am extremely handsome, muscular, and active!  I love to run and play (even more than my foster brother who is only 3, and that is saying something!). Speaking of my foster brother, I do get along well with other dogs. Lately we’ve become best buds and spend our days napping in the same bed or running around the house with our squeaky toys. 

I have a soft shiny coat and a sweet face with huge ears. I love attention, especially cuddles and belly rubs. My favorite activities are going for walks and burrowing in cozy places. I am good on a leash and housebroken. There are no children in my foster home, but I can be protective of my toys & space so it may be best that I live with adults only.   

My foster mom says that the best part about me is my hilarious personality. I am a “true doxie” meaning that I am sweet, stubborn, fun and playful. Every day I find some new trick to make her laugh!
