CAN NOT BE ADOPTED IN NEW ENGLAND. Silas is one very special little Chiweenie. He may be young, but he has already had a really tough life. Silas was dumped at 8 months old with 10 other dogs in a State Park in NC. Luckily, a Park Ranger saw the person dump them in the woods and was able to catch most of them within a few days- with the help of some fellow animal lovers. Several of these dogs were blind & deaf. Silas was one of the luckier ones, even though this has scarred him for life. We may never know the story behind these poor pups, but do know, that they are all on their way to a much better life. Silas is one very special little “peanut” as we like to call him. He is just about a year old, weighs 9 pounds and is terrified of everything and everyone. When he came into foster care, he hid under the bed for days. With a lot of patience, love, calming CBD treats and a routine, he has come a long way. He will take a very special adopter. One who will show him that the world is not a scary place and one who will be patient as he works through his emotional issues. Silas can walk on a leash but will only take 2 steps into the back yard to do his business. He goes potty and immediately bolts back into the house- his safe place. He is potty trained (for the most part) with frequent potty breaks. He will do best in a quiet home and with a parent(s) who is home during the day. He gets along fine with our small female dogs. Because of his size and temperament, he cannot be adopted to a home with small children, cats or large dogs. Silas is healthy, neutered and UTD on all of his vaccinations. He is on (and will stay on) a special diet because he is prone to bladder stones. But, he loves his prescription food and even eats it as treats. Silas LOVES to play! He could play fetch with his favorite toys or balls ALL DAY LONG! He is happiest when he is playing or snuggling up on the couch or in bed. Would you open your home and heart to this precious boy?
