PLEASE NOTE CHARLIE NEEDS AN ADOPTER WHO WORKS FROM HOME OR IS ONLY OUT OF THE HOUSE 2-4 HRS AT A TIME AND HAS A FENCED YARD. CHARLIE MUST BE AN ONLY DOG AND ADOPTED WITHIN 100 MILES OF THE METROPOLITAN DC WASHINGTON AREA.
Hi! My name is Charlie Brown. I am an 8-year-old black and tan longhair dapple dachshund that was brought into a shelter by animal control because of severe neglect. I was in very poor medical condition and needed help badly. The shelter reached out to their rescue partners and Little Paws without hesitation said YES. Charlie needed basic medical care as well as specialty vetting. It was obvious that his eyes were badly inflamed, it was obvious his ears were severely infected, and obvious that he needed to be neutered and that he desperately needed a dental. Charlie is deaf as a result of the ear infections that were never treated. He is also blind due to neglect and unfortunately, the damage to his eyes is not reversible. Despite his disabilities, Charlie is doing really well. He is house trained and crate trained but prefers being gated if he needs to be restricted from roaming freely. Charlie loves being with his person and therefore we are searching for a forever family for Charlie that has no other pets and will not leave him alone for long periods of time. For more information about Charlie please contact Beth at bethmittleman@icloud.com
Adoption Fee: $275.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). TRANSPORTATION HELP! If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption.
