This is Rufus!! But he also goes by Rue!! He is only 4 years old and he is such a good-natured boy! Rufus is an owner surrender. His parents were elderly and they had to give Rufus up due to their health (cancer). It was very hard on them and also a very big change for Rufus! He has been used to a very quiet life, hasn’t been around little kids and was also fed people food. It took a bit for Rufus to come out of his shell once at his foster home (he was a little depressed at first) but he’s coming around and he is such a love bug! He’s enjoying being around the other pups in the home, the freedom of going outside to the fenced backyard and going for walks! We have also found that he loves belly rubs and makes some of the cutest noises you’ve ever heard! Rufus loves cuddling! And at night he’s fine sleeping in a crate in the bedroom with you or if you’d prefer him in the big bed, he’s fine with that, too! Since Rufus was fed quite often and maybe not always the right things, we have him on a can dogfood (diet), and fed twice a day, to help him lose a few pounds. Since Rufus is used to someone being home most of the time he would do best in a home where his new parent(s) weren’t gone for long periods of time or if he could go to work with his new parent(s) that would be awesome, as he does get a little anxious when you leave and does whine and/or bark (for this reason, Rufus would not make a very good apartment dog).

Please feel free to email Rufus’ foster mom to find out more about Rufus: rablack05@gmail.com
