Roxie is an affectionate, playful, happy 12 year old senior dachshund mix with a thick coat. She has the cutest little face with the sweetest expression. Her eyes draw you in, and that adoring gaze is as if she is speaking to you with her eyes.
Roxie loves giving and receiving love; she enjoys sitting on a lap and being stroked. She enjoys hearing her name and is a gentle soul.
Roxie isn't comfortable being held while her foster mom is standing up. Her favorite things are sleeping, mealtime, treats and snuggle time. Roxie sleeps in the big bed, and in the morning, she likes to wake her foster mom up by climbing over her letting her know it is time to get up. When her foster mom is working at her desk, Roxie sometimes likes to curl up on her lap and sleep. Roxie enjoys a nice leash walk.
Roxie is house trained and runs to the front door and barks to let her foster mom know she needs to go outside. She likes to explore outside in the garden and greets all dogs and people walking by outside the fence. She enjoys spending time outside in the sunshine, even in chilly weather. Roxie really likes people and has really enjoyed her foster sisters.
Roxie is not a fan of car rides and likes to be close to the foster mom when in the car. She is quite vocal at expressing her discomfort while waiting for the vet but quiets down as soon as the vet tech picks her up.
Could you be Roxie's new person? If you have room in your heart and home for our sweet senior Roxie, please contact her foster mom Shivaun (shivaunleonard@gmail.com).
