* PLEASE NOTE BARNEY REQUIRES A 6' PRIVACY FENCE (NO CHAIN LINK) AND A COMPANION DOG*
Hey there. I’m Barney and I guess you can see from my picture I am not a dachshund.
I came to Little Paws because my original owner could no longer care for me. Little Paws thinks I am a Labrador/Basset Houndmix.
I get along with other dogs and all sorts of people and kids. I am a very happy, easy-going dog who loves everyone and everything. I enjoy running in the yard with my dog pals, chasing squirrels, and hanging out watching the children play next door. I enjoy snuggling on the chair and sleeping in the big bed. I am quiet until someone comes to the door or I see the kids next door, then I make myself known with a very loud hound-dog bark. Mostly I am quiet and well-behaved I am free-roaming so I am not currently crate trained and will need some help with leash training learning not to pull and tug.
I am house trained and will use a pee pad when left alone while my foster mom is at work. I will need a yard that is securely fenced yard (6' privacy fencing - no chain link). I will also like it if I had a dog pal or two to play with.
If you are looking for a loveable, easy-going pup, I’m your guy. I look forward to meeting you and when we do, you will fall in love with me!
Barney’s Adoption fee is $275. If he is adopted over a state line there will be a $45.00 charge for a health certificate (required by law). All dogs adopted in New England are charged an additional $150 to cover regulatory requirements. Transportation Help If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport
