Odie is a nine year old dachshund that came to the Little Paws family as an owner surrender. This friendly boy is happy, loving and trusting. He is house trained and doesn’t bark much unless he is left alone. He does have separation anxiety and likes to be able to follow his human around. Because Odie does not like being alone, we will adopt him to a family that is home more often than not. His adopter must be willing to work on his separation anxiety issues. He will bark if left alone, even if it is from one room to another. He is not a big fan of the crate.
Odie is low energy and doesn’t play much but likes to go on a walk to sniff and mark. He likes to sniff in yard as well but only if a person is with him. He is good with other dogs, and does well with children (he has been tested with kids aged 6-13). He is good in the car when he rides securely in a booster seat with a blanket. He is a typical stubborn dachshund and acts like he doesn’t hear you and does what he wants. Odie loves to snuggle up under his blanket and is always available for a belly rub.
Odie is located in SC . For more information about Odie, please contact his foster at: jde048@yahoo.com
The adoption fee for Odie is $275. If he is adopted over a state line there will be a $45.00 charge (for each dog) for a health certificate (required by law). Transportation Help: If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation.
