Dipper is a 19lb Dachshund-Pomeranian mix who has been surrendered to us at the young age of just three years old. Dipper is very affectionate and needs a new energetic family to give lots of kisses and snuggles to. He is a very spritely little guy who enjoys long walks twice a day and would definitely be up for hikes or jogs with his humans. 

Environment

Dipper is house-trained and crate-trained. He will happily go potty outside or on a pee pad, and has only ever had an accident if very nervous or in a new home. He would adore having someone one more often than not, but work from home is not required since he does just fine by himself. He’s not super vocal so shared walls are ok too. 

Dipper prefers the adventure of a walk to the comfort of a backyard because of the scenery and smells, so a fenced yard isn’t crucial in his new home. He does have some prey drive though, so wouldn’t be safe to roam. Dipper currently barks at other dogs while leash walking but he’s working on his manners! 

Pets & People

Dipper needs time to warm up to anyone beyond his own people. If given a chance with patient friends, he will warm up quickly. This is something that we are working on already. He seems to prefer women to men and is untested around children. We’d like to put him in a child-free home as he can be protective. Around other dogs he guards things he sees as “his” and doesn’t particularly care for the other dogs in his foster home.
