Hello from Peanut Butter, usually called Peanut or as his foster mom jokes...Salty Nut since he's quite an opinionated Doxie about many things! Peanut is 7 years old and since his birthday is Valentine's Day it is very appropriate that this little man is a total love bug. Unfortunately no other pets for this boy. He wants to be your one and only. Peanut travels well in the car for both short and long trips. He's a happy, relaxed guy as long as he's got his humans for company.

Peanut has IVDD and lost the use of his hind legs back in September of 2021, however, that doesn't stop Peanut from loving life and every person he meets! He has undergone conservative treatment with meds and physical therapy and has gained a lot of strength and can now stand again...go Peanut! This has allowed Peanut to be a very helpful team member when he gets his bladder and bowels expressed a few times per day, since standing up to complete this process is much easier. Peanut would like everyone to know that while he has this one special need, it's not hard to learn and it saves his humans from taking him outside to pee in the dark, cold, or rain! Peanut has been fitted for a cart (for outside) and a scooter and drag bag (for inside). Peanut has very clearly communicated his dislike of the cart and scooter to his foster mom but does tolerate the drag bag to move around the house. Peanut has also discovered he loves walks in a pet stroller so he can sniff and explore the neighborhood all from the comfort of his cozy blanket...spoiled!

Peanut loves mealtime, snack time, and cuddle time. This sweet boy will sit on your lap for hours and happily cuddle with you for as long as possible. He is also happy to snooze and spend time in his crate during the day and at night, though he'd love to sleep in bed with his human(s) if allowed. Peanut is very vocal and will let you know what he thinks or wants! He loves meeting new people and insists (by barking) that anyone who walks in the house comes to greet him first! Other than barking from excitement that his humans have returned, or visitors have arrived, he is a pretty quiet guy who is content to hang with you and relax. He enjoys having some toys in his crate with him and will "kill" any stuffed toy that is given to him in true Doxie fashion. Peanut is truly a love and is excited to find his forever home where he can be loved and spoiled like every Doxie deserves!

The adoption fee for Peanut is $150.00. If he is adopted over a state line there will be a $45.00 charge for a health certificate (required by law). Transportation Help: If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation.
