Hello There,

I'm Toby. I'll bet that you want to hear all about me. I am approximately 9 years old with black & tan short fur, and I weigh 8 lbs. I have soulful eyes and a nose that truly rivals a bloodhound. But before I tell you all about me... there's a Yin to my Yang, and her name is Maizie; we made our way to Little Paws Dachshund Rescue as a bonded pair, and that's how we'll stay. We now live a great life with our foster Mom; she has a box of toys here bigger than me, which makes me really happy. 

Maizie and I have been together for several years now we have a complicated relationship. I'm the more subdued playful counterpart to her sassy yet classy boisterous energy. When you see one of us, the other is not far away. We sleep curled up in the same dog bed and cuddle on the couch. We must be adopted as a pair. 

I love riding in the car. Maizie and I would love to travel anywhere you want to go. I am happy in my crate, and I will gladly sleep there if that is what you want me to do. I'm not a great fan of walking on a leash. I haven't had much experience, but I am learning. I'd love to have a fenced yard to explore, but it isn't necessary. I am doing well with house training and know how to use pee pads if I have to.

My foster Mom says that I am super sweet and friendly. I get along with men and women. I can be reactive towards other dogs when I am out walking on a leash. But I'm good with them otherwise. I like to bark at strangers when they come into my house. Our foster Mom thinks that Maizie and I should have our own variety show; we keep her and everyone in rescue in stitches with our daily antics. The adoption fee for Toby and Maizie is $550. If they are adopted over state lines, the is a $45.00 fee for each dog for a health certificate as required by law.

Transportation Help: If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don't let distance stand in your way of adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport or refer you to a paid transport.

Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by state departments of agriculture that may include a short stay in quarantine. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue and some dogs going to New England states may be charged an additional $175.00 to cover costs of compliance.
