We don't know how Maizie gets along with children or cats
Hello there,
I'm Maizie. I can't wait to tell you all about ME. I am about 6 years old, and I'm a "Gorgeous Ginger” I weigh 5 lbs. but I've got Big Dog Energy in this little body. I'm part of a package deal with my brother; his name is Toby. We made our way to Little Paws Dachshund Rescue as a bonded pair, and that's how we'll stay.
Toby and I have been together for several years, we have a complicated relationship. I'm the Yin to Toby’s Yang. When you see one of us, the other is not far away. I am a sassy and classy kind of girl. If you ask Toby, he will probably tell you I'm a bit bossy. He loves it though. I provide my foster Mom with endless entertainment as I take it upon myself to defend the household against all threats; real or imaginary. I’m an expert and Toby leaves it all to me. Toby prefers to take a laid-back approach to life.
I love napping burrowed underneath blankets, all warm and cozy. If there is a lap, I'm in it. I am most contented when Toby is by my side. We sleep curled up in the same dog bed and cuddle on the couch.
Toby & I love riding in the car. We would love to travel anywhere you want to go. I am happy in my crate and will sleep there or in bed with you. I'm working on my leash walking skills, and I like to make my presence known when I see other dogs, so that's something I will need help with. I am pee pad trained, but I do occasionally have an accident.
I'm a friendly gal who gets along with most anyone if you give me a little warm-up time. Our foster Mom thinks that Toby and I should have our own variety show; we keep her and everyone in rescue in stitches with our daily antics. Could you be the person who gives us the forever home and life we are ready and waiting for?

Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by state departments of agriculture that may include a short stay in quarantine. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and some dogs going to New England states may be charged an additional $175.00 to cover costs of compliance.
