Joshua Needs:

  • An adopter with IVDD experience
  • A fenced backyard
  • A male companion buddy

Joshua is a handsome 4-year-old chocolate smooth mini dachshund that weighs 10 lbs. This little guy settled right into his foster home and has done well with the male dogs in his foster home. He is crate trained and will use pee pads, walks well on a leash and absolutely adores the backyard.

Joshua had IVDD surgery in 2021 and has fully recovered.  To prevent another back incident Joshua should not be allowed to run up and down stairs, should always be walked with a harness and should not rough house with large dogs.

Joshua was diagnosed with focal epilepsy several years ago and takes medication twice daily. Since coming to Little Paws in February Joshua has not had a seizure. (Note: The seizures are idiopathic which means the cause of his seizures is unknown.)

Joshua is not particularly fond of car rides (he will whine and scratch to get out of his crate) so he is searching for a forever family that will not be too far away from his foster home in North Carolina.

If you have questions about Joshua, please contact his foster mom  Stephanie at luv2ryde88@yahoo.com

The adoption fee for Joshua is $325.00.  If he is adopted over a state line there will be a $45.00 charge for a health certificate (required by law).

Transportation Help: If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation.
