Regina

- Needs to be maintained on a diet of Hills Sensitive Skin and Stomach
Regina is a gorgeous 3-year-old chocolate brown long hair dachshund who is looking for love. She weighs about 19 lbs and is, for the most part, house trained (with occasional accidents) and crate trained. She understands basic obedience instructions and is a good listener. Regina has lived all her life with her sister Gretchen. They are inseparable and must be adopted as a pair. She would love to have a backyard in her new home, but it isn
’
t a requirement so long as she can be taken out regularly for walks on her leash. She isn’t a vocal girl and would be fine living in an apartment, townhouse, or single family dwelling.
Regina loves all people and is sweet and affectionate with everyone. No one is a stranger. She is very attached to her humans and would be happiest living in a home with at least one person at home most of the time to keep her company. She loves being close to people and wants to be with them whenever she can including riding along in the car, outside in the yard, and when eating her meals.
Regina gets along with the other dogs except for very tiny ones. She has a very high prey drive and regards them as something she should chase. A home with a small (less than 10 lbs) dog, cats, and other small pets is not a good fit for her.
When we asked her foster mom to tell us about Regina’s special qualities, she said that Regina is a beautiful, snuggly, affectionate, and sweet girl. She loves everyone.
Regina is being fostered in Danielson, CT. For additional information, please contact foster co-ordinator Carol at dappledog70@aol.com. If you would like to adopt Regina, please complete an adoption application form by clicking on

The adoption fee for Regina AND Gretchen is $650.00. If the dog is adopted over a state line, there will be an additional charge for a health certificate (required by law) of anywhere between $45.00 and $100.00. The amount depends upon what the veterinarian charges LPDR.
Transportation Help: If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don't let distance stand in your way of adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport or refer you to a paid transport.
Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by state departments of agriculture that may include a short stay in quarantine. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue and some dogs going to New England states may be charged an additional $175.00 to cover costs of compliance.
