Things to know about Rubin:
-Needs someone home more often than not.

Rubin is a striking 6-year-old dachshund with a short dapple black and tan coat. He weighs in at 18 pounds. Rubin is a youthful and playful pup who is always up for snuggles under a blanket at the end of an active day. Rubin is house trained and knows how to ask to go outside when he needs to. From time-to-time he may have an accident when he gets excited. His foster dad says that Rubin wore a belly band when he first moved in, however, since he has settled in, he has not needed one. Rubin needs to have a home in which someone is home most of the time to let him outside for potty breaks and exercise every 3 to 4 hours. Rubin is crate trained and does well when left for a few hours. Rubin is an energetic dog and likes to know what is going on in and outside the house at all times. He considers it his duty to let the humans know when the doorbell rings just in case they haven’t heard it for themselves. He also likes to keep everyone informed
when other dogs walk by the house. Rubin likes being outside and would love a fenced yard. He enjoys going for walks on his leash around the neighborhood, however Rubin is reactive to dogs and people when leash walking and would benefit from training to help him control this behavior.

Rubin is always happy to go in the car and travel wherever his humans want to go. Rubin likes all people including children. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home. He would be happy to have a doggie buddy in his new home. We do not know how he does with cats. When we asked his foster dad what he likes most about Rubin, he said that he loves Rubin’s beautiful coat colors and that he is an energetic dog who enjoys going for walks. He’s also very affectionate and gives lots of kisses.

Rubin is currently living in Danielson, CT with his foster dad Miguel. For additional information, please contact him at miguel@mantunes.com . If you would like to adopt Rubin, please complete an adoption application form by clicking on                                              https://www.littlepawsdr.org/adoption/adoption-applications/

The adoption fee for Rubin is $275.00. If he is adopted over a state line, there may be an additional charge for a health certificate (required by law) of anywhere between $45.00 and $100.00. The amount depends upon what the veterinarian charges LPDR.

Transportation Help: If you see a dog that is a match for your family a LPDR volunteer
transport may be arranged to bring the dog to you. However, some of our dogs have
distance restrictions and need to be adopted within a specific number of miles from their
foster homes. We’ll inform you if the dog you’ve applied for is not able to travel long distances by car. A paid transport can also be arranged for any dog that does not have travel restrictions.
