Buddy is a super cute, 16lb, happy, playful, affectionate, and goofy dog. He can be shy at first but will enjoy lots of attention and give a lot of love in return. He loves rides in the car, and making new friends when he’s out and about. He’s looking for a peaceful home where he can be the only dog and get lots of fuss.

Environment

Buddy is potty and crate-trained and content to snooze in his crate when his people are out of the house. Buddy needs a fenced yard to go potty and to get exercise as he can't be leash walked due to his ataxia.

People

Buddy loves people and is most happy when he meets them out in public. Strangers in his home or yard can be scary though, so slow introductions and a little space are best if you have visitors he’s never met. For Buddy, his home is his safe haven, and loud, busy homes with children won’t be a good fit.

Health

Buddy has ataxia, which means he doesn’t control his rear legs very well, but he isn’t bothered by it! At first we thought it was IVDD but woohoo! It’s not! So he’s not in pain, he’s just very wobbly when walking or running. In every other way, he’s in great shape and ready to fill your home with woofs and love.

Buddy is currently living in Herndon, VA with his foster dad Steve, and will be adopted to the following mid-Atlantic states (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia).
