Things to  know  about Rocko :

Rocko  is a handsome 13-year-old dachshund mix. He has a gorgeous long black and tan coat and weighs about 24 pounds.  Rocko is  house trained provided he goes outside every 3 to 4 hours. When he moves into his new home it would be a good idea to have him wear a belly band as a precaution. After a few days he will settle in  and won’ t need it anymore.    Rocko does not use a crate when there are no humans at home. He happily curls up in his bed and naps waiting for their return. Rocko doesn't bark much except when he hears noises. He is not a good fit for a home with shared walls.

Rocko  enjoys spending time outside and goes crazy mad for walks. He ' d love to have a fenced yard, porch, or big window to keep his eyes on the goings on in the neighborhood. He likes riding in the backseat of the car and is good to go along on long or short road trips.

Rocko  gets along with dogs of all sizes and would love to live in a home with other pups to keep him company. He does not get along well with cats. He likes humans and does well with strangers that enter his home or that he meets on walks. Rocko enjoys the company of older children who are respectful of his small size and maturity.

When we asked his foster mom what she likes  most  about Rocko, she said that she admires how he takes it upon himself to defend the household against the vacuum by barking at it. She also loves that he is always ready to travel with her in the car although he does start off with a bit of panting.

The adoption fee for Rocko   is $ 200 . If he  is adopted over a  state line, there will be an additional charge for a health certificate (required by law) of anywhere between   $45.00 and $100.00. The amount depends upon what the veterinarian  charges LPDR.

Transportation Help: If you see a dog that is a match for your family a LPDR volunteer transport may be arranged to bring the dog to you.   However, some of   our dogs have distance restrictions and need to be adopted within a specific number of miles from their foster homes. We’ll inform you if the dog you’ve applied for is not able to travel long distances by car. A paid transport can also be arranged for any dog that does not have travel restrictions.
