Things to know about Salida:

Salida is a beautiful 13-year-old dachshund with a short black and silver merle pattern coat. She weighs approximately 15 pounds. Salida loves being a couch potato on the receiving end of belly rubs. She asks for nothing more than to snuggle up nice and close to her person. She is bonded with Oliver and the two dogs must be adopted  together. Salida is house trained, however f rom time-to-time she may have an accident inside and needs to have a home in which someone can be there to let her outside for potty breaks every 3 to 4 hours and before and after meals. Salida is crate trained and does well when left for a few hours.

Salida doesn’t need much exercise. She likes to take a turn around the backyard and
play a bit from time-to-time. Salida is always happy go in the car and travel wherever
her humans want to go. Salida likes humans including strangers who give her lots of attention. She is good with respectful children and she gets along with the other dogs in her foster home. Salida is not a vocal dog. She usually only barks when instigated by another dog. She will be fine living in a home with shared walls including apartments and townhouses.

When we asked her foster mom what she likes most about Salida, she said that she
loves how her tail never stops wagging. She’s such a sweet and happy girl. Salida is currently living in Canton, MA with her foster mom Olivia. For additional

The adoption fee for Salida & Oliver is $475.00. If the dog is adopted over a state line, there will be an additional charge for a health certificate (required by law) of anywhere between $45.00 and $100.00. The amount depends upon what the veterinarian charges LPDR.

Transportation Help: If you see a dog that is a match for your family a LPDR volunteer transport may be arranged to bring the dog to you. However, some of our dogs have distance restrictions and need to be adopted within a specific number of miles from their foster homes. We’ll inform you if the dog you’ve applied for is not able to travel long  distances by car. A paid transport can also be arranged for any dog that does not have  travel restrictions.
