Pudge is a handsome 5-year-old dachshund with a short brindle coat and weighs about 11 pounds. Pudge is a quiet, cuddly, loving, and loyal pup. He is a great family dog. His favorite activities are going for walks, snuggling, snoozing, and playing. He lives to love his people and would be happiest in a home in which at least one person is home most of the time. 
 

Pudge is house trained, however, his foster suggests that he wear a belly band when he first moves into his new home until he settles into his new routine. Pudge is not crate trained and his foster mom says that in her experience he does not need a crate. He can be trusted to be a perfect gentleman when left alone. Pudge will be fine living in any type of home including a townhouse or apartment. He would love to have a yard but he would be equally happy getting fresh air going for walks in the neighborhood. He is always happy to accompany his humans in the car especially if he can sit on someone’s lap while traveling.
 

Pudge loves all humans, including children. When he first meets another dog he is a bit timid but he warms up quickly. We don’t know what he thinks about cats. When we asked his foster mom what she likes most about Pudge, she said that everyone adores him because he is an incredible sweetheart. He wants nothing more than to cuddle with his person on the couch. He is not a vocal dog but he does make some adorable and comical little grunts and squeaks.

The adoption fee for Pudge is $325.00. If the dog is adopted over a state line, there will be an additional charge for a health certificate (required by law) of anywhere between $45.00 and $100.00. The amount depends upon what the veterinarian charges LPDR.
Transportation Help: If you see a dog that is a match for your family, a LPDR volunteer transport may be arranged to bring the dog to you. However, some of our dogs have distance restrictions and need to be adopted within a specific number of miles from their foster homes. We’ll inform you if the dog you’ve applied for is not able to travel long distances by car. A paid transport can also be arranged for any dog that does not have travel restrictions.
