Things to know about Finn
Finn is a handsome, fit, and active 8-year-old dachshund/mini pinscher mix. He has a short black and tan coat, and weighs about 13 pounds. He is a sweet gentle soul with a happy personality who loves attention, being active, and playing fetch. Finn is house trained, he asks to go outside when he needs to go. He does well as long as he goes outside every 4 to 5 hours or so. He is crate trained, but is allowed to roam freely in his foster home during the day and at night.
Finn is not a very vocal dog and can live in any type of home including single family dwellings, apartments, and townhouses. He will bark at the doorbell or very loud noises outside. He enjoys spending time outside, and although not required, he would love to have a fenced yard in his new home to explore, patrol for invading squirrels, and to play in. He loves going for walks on his leash. If there isn’t time for a long walk, a short one is fine too.
Finn loves all people. He would love a home in which at least one person is home most of the time to take him out walking in the neighborhood. He gets along with respectful children of all ages. Finn likes all dogs regardless of size. From behind his fence he barks at dogs and people walking by just to let them know that he has seen them and to alert his foster mom that they are there. He also lets her know when there are unusual noises outside such as the wind blowing and approaching delivery people. His tail wags nonstop while doing this important job.
When we asked his foster mom what she thinks Finn needs in his new home, she said that he must have a soft dog bed, his favorite soft toys, and people who give him loads of attention, affection, playtime, and walks. He’d be happy to have a backyard and a doggie buddy.
Finn is currently living in Jersey City NJ with his foster mom Noelle. For additional information, please contact her at
