THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT REMY: HE WILL DO BEST WITH A FENCED YARD. HE WILL DO BEST IN A SINGLE FEMALE HOUSEHOLD. WILL NOT BE PLACED IN A HOME WITH CHILDREN.

REMY is a sweet, cuddly, 10-pound senior boy who is looking for his human queen!  He likes his female foster best and will be protective over his queen.  He likes males, but just not when his female is around. Because of this we think he will do best in a single female household. He has been very friendly to male visitors to the home, even sitting in their laps---but he seems to prefer females and sometimes will act protective of his female person.

Remy loves being petted, getting his belly rubbed, getting kisses, and rolling around being silly. He loves attention!  He lives for food and treats and gets so excited when feeding time comes around. His favorite place to hang out and nap is his calming donut bed (under his blue blanket) or in your lap. He loves the yard and on sunny days he'll sniff around for awhile. He likes to go for walks on his leash around the neighborhood, but prefers to do his toileting in the yard. He does not react to the neighborhood children, but has not been in a home with children.  He does not live with a cat, but has no reaction when he sees the neighborhood cat. He gets along with most small dogs he has met.  Remy is crate-trained but prefers the door be left open. He does fine when the foster goes out and leaves Remy free-roaming on the first floor.

Remy does know his least favorite activity:  riding in the car. He becomes extremely anxious, cries, and will attempt to get out if the opportunity arises. When in the car he travels in a crate for safety.  Remy is a resource guarder which means he is extremely possessive of his toys and will not allow anyone to get close to him when he has a toy. Because of this,  Remy cannot have toys,  but his foster enriches his days by giving him dog puzzles with treats and lick mats for entertainment.

Remy is house trained, he will run to the door when he has to go potty. He does have a very occasional accident in the house.  He sleeps hard and long at night so can make it without an accident overnight.

When we asked her foster mom what she likes most about Remy, she said, “He's very sweet and is the greatest little cuddler. He loves his calming donut bed. When he wants something, he does a cute dance standing on his hind legs.”

Remy is currently living in Philadelphia Pa. with his foster mom Carol He needs to be  adopted by a family that lives within 400 miles of his foster’s home.  For additional information, please contact her at dappledog70@aol.com.
