Needs a doggie buddy.

She is a super dachshund mix with a short white coat with tan-colored ears and spots. She is so sweet and absolutely adorable. She is a smart girl and a happy pup. She loves the company of other dogs. They can be big or small, young or old. Pearl would do best in a home with at least one doggie buddy.

Pearl is house trained and signals when she needs to go outside. She occasionally has accidents in the house when her signals to go outside go unnoticed. She is crate trained and is happy to stay in her crate for several hours. Her new home must have plenty of dog toys for chewing to divert her attention from things that don’t belong to her.

Pearl loves going for walks around her neighborhood. She doesn’t particularly like riding along in the car and does a bit of whining. She can be tethered in the backseat. However, she will pace and whine. She travels best in a crate. It keeps her calm.

Pearl loves women and is skittish around men. She barks at men when they enter or exit a room. Once she realizes that they are safe to be around, she is affectionate and happy to do some snuggling. She gets along with children. She is cautious around strangers but warms up quickly once she feels comfortable. Pearl is not a vocal dog and should be fine living in a home with shared walls including apartments and townhouses.

When we asked her foster mom what she likes most about Pearl, she said, “Pearl is a complete snuggle bug. Her main goal in life is to get all curled up and comfy with her pack. When she gets a burst of energy, she loves playing with stuffed toys. She hides her favorite stuffed toys in special places around the house that only she knows.”
