Marley is our latest sweet little snuggle bug. He’s 8 years old with short hair, black and tan coloring, and weighs 21 lbs. His favorite things to do are: cuddle on the couch, burrow under the covers, or make a nest. His owner sadly passed away, and the family is unable to keep him, so Marley is looking for people to love on and entertain with his antics for the years to come.

Environment & Training

Marley is potty trained and crate trained! He will either go outside or use a pee pad, but if he’s not given a potty break every couple of hours he will need to wear a belly band to prevent accidents. Marley enjoys walks but isn’t really high energy. He can be vocal towards other dogs on walks and can get stressed putting the harness on so it would be great for him to have a backyard to roam too. We wouldn’t recommend apartment or townhouse living as he has some separation anxiety and takes time to relax if left alone.

Pets & People

Marley is tentative with new people and barks until he realizes they’re sticking around. He warms up very quickly and will hop on laps for some pets. One thing to be very aware of is that Marley is fearful of being picked up or moved and must be allowed to make his own decisions on where he wants to be. Let him come to you instead, and he is the most affectionate dog you’ll ever get to know. He’s untested with kids so unless they are older and careful/know not to manhandle him we don’t recommend a house with children.

Marley does great with small dogs including his blind foster sister but is untested with big dogs. He has displayed some food guarding so he is fed separately from the other dogs.

Health

Marley has seizure history and takes Phenobarbital daily, but has had no seizures with us.

Location

Marley is currently living in Charleston, SC, with his foster dad, Herb. For additional

information, please contact hdwatsonjr@gmail.com.

He doesn’t love the car and can be a bit whiny but he’ll make an exception for a car ride to his new home! If you would like to adopt Marley, please complete an adoption application form by clicking the adopt button. The adoption fee for Marley is $275.00.
