Archie is a puppy of just 11 months and 8.8lb who has come to Little Paws as a suspected puppy mill survivor pulled from a New York shelter. He is a resilient and sweet little guy who sometimes hides behind lingering fear. His bursts of joy and excitement have become more and more frequent as he learns what love is at his foster home.

Archie currently uses pee pads but he’s still very young with great capacity to learn and adapt. He’s crate trained and it’s a safe place for him given the upheaval he’s been through. 

Archie has never been walked on a leash because he is easily frightened. He is also still getting used to being handled so it can be challenging to catch him or put a harness on him. He will do best with a secure yard to potty train and leash train in safety. He’s looking forward to continuing to work on training and socialization with his new family so he's able to live a full and happy life.

Archie has only ever been around small dogs in his foster home. He is respectful of the senior, and loves to play with the younger dog, and his foster brothers have been an essential part of him learning to trust the humans in his foster home. He would do well with a calm canine companion.

Archie had a traumatic start so he was never properly socialized and will hide or cower around new people. Though he is slow to trust, he is very sweet and gentle once he gets to know you. He unfortunately won’t be placed with young children as he’s so nervous—he needs a calm predictable environment—but he does love the older teenage children in his foster home.
