Weenie Bio

Weenie is a seven year old dachshund with an easygoing nature and a sweet disposition. He is 18lb of love and snuggles. Sadly he was left at a shelter when his previous owners moved, so now he loves to be a little shadow following his humans wherever they go. 

Environment

Weenie has had quite a bit of upheaval and he’s currently re-learning his potty training. He doesn’t like to be in a crate or left totally alone but he’s alright if left with other dogs. Weenie really enjoys the yard and playing ball. He doesn’t seem to have any prey drive or any digging behavior—he tried it once after one of the other dogs in his foster home showed him but decided to put his efforts into napping instead. He knows how to act on a leash. Weenie will be great in a home with shared walls or otherwise since he rarely barks—only ever a tiny bit at feeding time or if excited.

Pets & People

Weenie adores his people and wants you around more often than not. He’s a little Velcro dog and he will even follow you to make sure you stay safe in the shower. He’s fine with visitors or meeting people out and about but he’s untested around children. He mostly loves the company of other dogs, but not keen on puppies. If he will be left at home, it would be beneficial to have another dog around his energy level/age in the home. 

Health

He eats low fat food because he previously had a small bout of pancreatitis.
