At 10 years young, Moses is a playful 15-pound black and tan doxie who will absolutely steal your heart! Moses found his way to Little Paws after being left at a shelter, and he's now ready to find his forever home—ideally with active humans who can share in his adventures and shower him with love and attention.

Moses has an adorable happy dance that will brighten your day. This spirited little guy loves to jump around, trying to get all the love and attention he can. Foster mom Krista says “My favorite thing about Moses is he loves being held like a baby in your arms while you are relaxing on the couch. He loves when you talk to him and rub his belly!”

Home Environment:

Moses is currently working on his house training and loves to potty outside, although occasionally forgets his manners and will mark—so a consistent routine will help him thrive. This clever boy is very food motivated and picks up on training quickly; he’s already familiar with using a doggy door. During training, he’s comfortable wearing a belly band (dog diaper).

At night, he enjoys snuggling up in the human bed, under plenty of blankets. Moses is an explorer at heart, enjoying time in the yard and going for walks. He gets along with other dogs; however, because of his playful nature, he doesn’t always recognize when other dogs prefer to take it easy. He would thrive in a home with another energetic pup or enjoy being the sole focus of your affection. He does not love to be confined (like behind a closed door) or crated but is working on crate training. He barks a bit while first in the crate but does settle down. He prefers to be free roaming and is not a barker if left free roaming. He barks when he hears all the other dogs barking, so would be okay with shared walls/apartments.

Interactions with People and Pets:

Moses is quick to warm up to new humans and will be your biggest fan in no time! He loves to jump into your lap for cuddle time or snuggle up next to you while you work. Although he hasn’t interacted with children or cats, he exhibits little prey drive towards small animals he encounters during walks. When visitors arrive, he’s calm and prefers to greet them at his own pace. Like many dogs, Moses may feel apprehensive if someone unfamiliar tries to pick him up or force him into a crate.

Health:

Moses has a manageable heart murmur that he takes daily medication for. These meds are mixed into his food or hidden in treats, and they don’t hinder his playful spirit one bit! To ensure his continued health, he should be seen by a vet or cardiologist yearly.

Location:

Moses is currently available for adoption near Collingswood, NJ. He settles down nicely in the car after he gets comfortable, making him a great companion for road trips.
