Overview

Jorgie is a 9 year old, full size dachshund mix who weighs 24lbs. He’s got good house manners, and gets along with most anyone. 

Foster says:
“My favorite thing about Jorgie is his eyes. His big, soulful, brown eyes will have you falling in love with him. He loves fetch, playing ball, carrying his toys around and chewing on them before settling in to be brushed. Brushing seems to relax him.”

Environment

Jorgie is fully house trained, and crate trained. He’s quiet and doesn’t bark, so shared walls would be a-ok, and he doesn’t really need a fenced yard so an apartment is a possibility for this pup. Jorgie can be left alone for periods of time and has been in his foster home. However, he does have seizures so if he can be kept an eye on most of the time it would be best. 

Pets & People

Jorgie is fine with humans big, small, old, young. He doesn’t mind hanging out but he will let you know if he’s had enough pets. He doesn’t love when you look him in the eyes so play it cool. Jorgie is great with other dogs—but doesn’t love sharing toys—there are three in his foster home, and he meets all sorts on his daily walks. His least favorite are boisterous puppies, so ideally potentially new families would only have more mature dogs in the home. 

Health

Jorgie has history of seizure and needs to take Keppra and phenobarbital.
