Overview

Lucy is a fun dog that warms up quickly. She'll be sure to let you know she’s ready for cuddles. She's been with her brother since they were born and is the big sister to Arthur. Lucy is just 2 years old, and approx 12lbs of pure dappled dachshund! Their owner suddenly passed, so now they are looking for a new home full of love and attention.

“My favorite thing about Lucy is that she makes the cutest happy noises after you come back from being gone for a little while. She also loves to cuddle.”

Environment

Lucy is young and still has that puppy energy! She is working on potty training as she doesn't have a routine. She occasionally goes on pads inside but doesn't quite understand that she needs to go outside. It’s a work in progress but she’s young and willing to learn! 

Lucy and Arther will need a home with a fenced yard. They are used to having one and love to run around & play. Since she does pull on the leash, she is a potential flight risk. She needs to keep working on her leash walking. Both dogs can be a little barky when they hear noises so shared walls won’t be a good fit. 

Pets & People

Lucy would love someone who could spend most of their time with her. Arthur keeps her company, but she does whine or bark when left alone. Someone who works from home can be home most of the time, or is retired (but active!) would be best suited. She loves meeting new people and dogs, she’s very friendly and sweet. If you have visitors but she will greet them, but she doesn’t tend to 

bark at people on walks. Once she knows you she’s a total lovebug. She’s fine with all adults and teens, but untested with children.

Lucy has been fine with the other dogs in her foster home. She does eat fast so she and Arther have been fed separately and need a slow feeder. Arthur likes to eat from the same bowl and neither dog appears to have any problem with it.

Location
