Diamond is an 8 year blue & cream longhair dachshund who is bonded to Angel. Both girls are nervous when meeting new people, but warm up quickly. They are both velcro pups who love to cuddle with their humans and with each other. Angel and Diamond were surrendered together after living with their previous family since they were puppies, so they’ve endured a lot of changed in a short time
Environment
Both are crate trained and house trained. However, when placed in a new environment they struggle with separation anxiety and accidents. After settling into their foster home this has improved, but their new family will need to be patient and committed to helping them through the transition. Both girls are happy to walk on a leash and enjoy daily walks in their current foster home. Due to their separation anxiety, the girls will do best in a home where at least one family member works remotely, stays home, or is retired. Both dogs are very sweet and affectionate with children and lived happily with a young child in their previous home.
Pets & People
Angel and Diamond prefer each other’s company, and the pair would do fine as the only dogs in the house. However, they lived with many other dogs in their previous home and would likely be accepting of other dogs if introductions are done appropriately. Separation at mealtimes is best as Diamond will eat Angel’s food if not supervised.
Location
Angel and Diamond are available for adoption from Mendham, NJ. They both do well in the car. Please email jemmaallenny@gmail.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the link above. The adoption fee for Diamond is $325
