Meet Whiskey, a distinguished 10-year-old purebred dachshund with a beautiful dapple coat and a personality full of character!

Whiskey weighs a perfect 13 lbs and came to Little Paws as an owner surrender. Don't let her age fool you—this confident lady has plenty of love to give and is ready to find her forever home where she can share her charming personality.

Environment

Whiskey is fully house trained and doesn't require a crate—she's perfectly comfortable without one. She doesn't need a fenced yard, making her an excellent candidate for apartment or condo living, and she's fine in homes with shared walls as she's not overly noisy. She enjoys her daily moderate exercise through short walks or playtime, and she's an absolute pro on the leash!

Pets & People

When first meeting new people at home, Whiskey will announce visitors with some initial barking but quickly settles down once she feels comfortable. During walks, she's completely unbothered by strangers, preferring to focus on her own adventure. While she hasn't been fully tested with children in a home setting, she has had positive interactions with kids during walks.

With other dogs, Whiskey gets along well but appreciates her personal space. She might occasionally let other dogs know when they're getting too close to her comfort zone. On walks, she shows excellent focus, ignoring other dogs and not getting distracted by them.

Personality & Quirks

Whiskey has two particularly endearing traits her foster parent loves: her romantic morning routine of gently placing her face against yours for some love and kisses, and her remarkable self-confidence that shines through in everything she does.

She's also quite the food enthusiast—a professional beggar who isn't shy about letting you know when she wants a taste of whatever you're having! Be prepared for some enthusiastic jumping and vocal requests when mealtime comes around.

Whiskey can be left alone for moderate periods, making her suitable for working families, though she does enjoy companionship.

Health

Whiskey is currently being treated for an ear infection with medicated drops, which is expected to clear up with the prescribed treatment.

Whiskey is available for adoption from Doral, FL. She travels well in the car, making transportation a breeze.
