Looking for the ultimate snuggle companion who will be your devoted shadow? Buddy the black and white dachshund might be your perfect match.

Buddy is a sweet 4-year-old, 17-pound love bug who came to Little Paws after his owner passed away and the spouse couldn’t keep him. This affectionate boy is the definition of a velcro dog—he absolutely cannot get close enough to his people and will happily be your constant companion. If you’re looking for a dog who will worship the ground you walk on, Buddy is your guy.

Environment

Buddy is mostly house-trained with very rare accidents, making him easy to live with. He enjoys moderate walks and playtime but is equally content being a couch potato with you. A backyard would be nice, but isn’t necessary. He doesn’t use a crate and he’s perfectly behaved roaming free. Buddy does have separation anxiety and really struggles being left alone, even with other dogs present. He’s currently on anxiety medication which is helping, but he needs someone who can be home most of the time or work from home. 

Pets & People

Buddy is exceptional with meeting new people and gets very excited to greet everyone. While he hasn’t been tested with children, his foster believes his laid-back nature would make him great with kids. He’s absolutely wonderful with other dogs and loves to play with them, making him a great addition to a multi-pet household or perfectly happy as an only dog. He’s gentle around food and treats, more on the picky eater side of things but has his routine and loves a greenie. 

Location
