Baxter is a very loving boy that was rescued from the shelter after he was surrendered by a puppy mill.  At first he was very, very apprehensive whenever a person would walk near him. He would cowl down, tuck his tale and bow his head. He is now very confident and happy to see people with a great happy-go-lucky attitude. He wags his tail so hard it looks as though he will fly away. When he's so very happy to see you he will nibble your arm and tug at your hair. His true playful and cheerful personality has blossomed. He enjoys a good Dachsie run or a little nip and tuck with another pup. He can also be equally calm and laid back. He walks wonderfully with the use of a harness.  He loves to sit on your lap and give you kisses or play nibble on your arm. He gives light, delicate small kisses.  He enjoys a short walk on a leash and is very well behaved. He doesn't mind the crate when he has a partner. Alone in a crate he is quite unhappy and hopes for an escape. If you must crate him, we highly suggest he have a companion dog to lodge with in the crate. Otherwise, he is good to sleep with you or on a comfy chair or the couch. Won't you consider Baxter for your home.
