Adoption Fee:    $250.00 + $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in MA, NH, and ME are subject to a mandatory quarantine period as per state laws. This will be an extra fee ($125.00) in addition to the regular adoption fee. 

Hello, my name is Dash although foster mom calls me Dasher Crasher because I play so rambunctiously. I love to play and I'm wonderful at fetch. I run so fast, you wouldn't think I'm 8.5 years old!!! She says I am so smart and would excel at lure coursing or learning tricks. I am perfect in my house-training and never make mistakes. I have earned the privilege of staying out of the kennel and free to roam the house while everyone is at work because I am a good boy and wait till my family comes back to play. I can happily entertain myself all day with a rope toy. I'm so easy to have around. I'm a very sensitive dog and because of that I can't be around children. I squeal and pull away when anyone handles my delicate ears or tail too roughly. I will quickly flip over for a belly rub and kisses! I am a strong fit boy but I'm tender at heart. I am great with dogs my own size but larger dogs frighten me. I have welcomed several other fosters into my home and never have a problem with them. Even though I love my foster mom and her family I have a hard time trusting new people because of my past. Someone was very mean to me and I'm never sure who I can trust right away. It only took a few days of love and affection for me to love and trust everyone who lives here. Guests who visit regularly I have learned to trust and welcome but if new people are going to visit I go to mommy's room and sleep quietly on my bed with the door shut so I do not get myself in trouble and make a bad impression by nipping someone. I want very much to be a part of all festivities and my demeanor in new and stressful situations has improved but it will take a lot of practice for me to believe that all people I meet will be kind to me. If you are experienced with Dachshunds please consider adding me to your family. I'm really a very sweet family member. I love when foster mommy kisses my face and I sleep like a person in the big bed: on my back and paws over the blanket. Please contact my foster mom if you have any more questions.

If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption.  LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
