Dixie-Anne is a 3 year old exquisite Black and Tan female dachshund. She was rescued from a very high kill shelter in SC after her owner surrendered her stating she was “too needy”! I cannot disagree enough with that statement. She is everything you could dream of in a dachshund and more! She loves to be with her “humans”, but is quite social with her foster brothers and sisters. She likes big and little dogs and seems like a very well adjusted girl. She loves to ride in the car. She prefers to sleep in the “big bed” with her humans, but will sleep in the crate if she can’t convince you to let her into your bed. She is working on her housetraining and needs to be taken “potty” frequently on a schedule. She loves to roll in the grass and sunbathe, but doesn’t care much for the heat and will let you know when she is ready to come inside. She loves squeaky toys, especially the loofah long dogs. She is laid back and enjoys chilling on the sofa and snuggling under a throw or blanket. “Talking” is one of her special talents. She will gargle, grumble, and bark if she needs to get your attention, especially if you are prepping a delicious smelling meal! Dixie-Anne loves to follow you around the house to keep you company. She is an endearing companion and would make a great addition to almost any family.  Fill out an adoption application at:
