Hi, My name is Ace! I'm a 5 1/2 yr old handsome guy! wag wag wag I love to give lots of kisses and be near my people all the time. I have a sad history that I am trying to forget. I was found wandering in a rural area with a terrible bite wound where another animal attacked me. It really hurt, and I was very scared until a nice lady gave me hope and got me to a vet where they fixed my bite wound. I was too sweet a boy to just sit in the vets kennel, so the nice lady got in touch with my foster mom at Little Paws Dachshund Rescue and she came to get me. I was very scared, but she was very gentle and sweet. She has taught me so much! I am not scared of hardwood floors or tile anymore. I can play with lots of toys all day now if I want to. wag wag wag  I walk on a leash like a show dog and can even go in my crate without being too afraid. My foster mommy has loved me and taken good care of me through my heartworm treatment. Even when they took my "nuggies" she said I was still a handsome guy! wag wag wag  The nice vet says I have a stage 2 or 3 heart murmur and now that my heartworms are history, I should be good as new. I just try to have a more laid back lifestyle, which I'm told, I totally rock it! wag wag wag  My foster mommy doesn't want me to know it, but I heard her talking with the vet. The vet said that I need a "special" diet because sometimes when I do my "business" outside it is difficult for me. He says I have something called a perianal hernia. The vet said as long as I have a good high fiber diet and my "business" isn't too hard for me I should be okay. That must be why I've been eating Hills Science Diet Adult Lite Small Bites and sometimes a little soft food mixed in. Don't tell her I was eavesdropping. She says that isn't polite, and I promised to be a good boy. wag wag wag  I really look forward to laying on the couch in a blanket with my foster mom. But she says that I deserve a home of my own where I can be the only dog or at least not more than 1 or 2 sisters to play with and snuggle when mom is busy. wag wag wag That sounds really nice and foster mommy says since I am such a loving and handsome rock star that some "special" people are going to adopt me! wag wag wag  I can hardly wait! That sounds so great to me! I will never have to be scared or hungry or get bitten ever again. AND I get rock star food, too! I'm such a "special" boy! Are you my "special" new family? wag wag wag   Love, ACE (the 14 pound red rock star)
