Flora is a red dachshund about 5 years old and Chip is her son is just over a year old. These two reportedly belonged to an elderly couple. One of the couple had to go into a nursing home and the other felt unable to care for these dogs. These two were taken to a local pound. A woman with lots of kids, and very little sense adopted these two dogs and kept them inside her house for several months in unknown conditions. They were never taken outside. Finally one day the woman asks her neighbor if she wants the dogs because she is tired of them. The neighbor is involved in rescue and sends their information to me. I want to help them so they come to my home for me to foster. Flora and Chip were in pitiful condition: every rib visible, they are tense and hyper alert. After a few days of massive meals, friendly dogs, lots of exercise and rest, these two have shown themselves to be sweet, friendly , happy little dogs. Flora would like nothing better than to sit in someone's lap. Chip is very advenurous, inquisitive and agile. They sleep together and play together as well as playing with other dogs.
